Matt Stevens reports on TalentLens UK's involvement with last week's TARGETjobs National Graduate Recruitment Awards, the largest event of its type in Europe.
With demand for graduates approaching their highest level in over a decade, this year's event was as hotly contested as ever. Acting as a showcase for industry best practice, the volume and quality of entrants did not disappoint.
The awards were presented by Lenny Henry and attended by around 1,400 guests from the world of graduate recruitment.
TalentLens UK sponsored the Diversity Recruitment award, which pitched Accenture, Bank of England, BP, Civil Service Fast Stream, Enterprise, L'Oréal, Lloyds, National Grid, PwC and Teach First against each other.
The reason we were attracted to this award was that it celebrates the very nature of one of the things we do - ensuring that candidates are considered in a fair and reliable way, regardless of their background.
The other key fact about the Diversity Recruitment award is that it is voted for by a student panel, comprised of members of the student entrepreneurial association, Enactus.
Having been present at the judging day in February as a mentor to a group of students assessing the entrants for another award category, TalentLens UK observed the focus and hard work displayed by this group of young people as they assessed the merits of each entrant equally.
The winner of the 2015 TJ Awards Diversity Recruitment Award is..............National Grid.
Many congratulations to them from all at TalentLens UK.
