SOSIE Development 

SOSIE was researched and launched in 1991 by a division of Pearson in France, called ECPA.

In France, SOSIE is an extensively used measurement of personality traits and values. 

SOSIE is a French word, meaning "Mirror Image", or in its German context, "doppelganger" It is widely used by organisations around the world for staff selection and development, in addition to employee counselling sessions and coaching purposes..

SOSIE was developed from 3 questionnaires propounded by Leonard V.Gordon, the renowned American psychologist. The tests SOSIE is derived from are: the Gordon Personality Professional Inventory (GPPI), the Survey of Interpersonal Values (SIV) and Survey or Personal Values (SPV).

SOSIE measures twenty scales, constituting three areas of personality disciplines:

  • Personality Traits
  • Interpersonal Values
  • Personal Values

SOSIE is ipsative and is administered online.  It contains 80 questions (some in a forced choice format) and is untimed - it takes particplants approximately 25 mins to complete.
