Who should attend:

This course is relevant to anyone wishing to use a Type personality instrument for coaching, career development or individual and team development purposes. GPTP is Pearson’s global Type instrument.

Pre-course work and course content:

Pre-course work involves completion of the GPTP questionnaire prior to attending the course and some reading. Pre-course work should not take longer than two hours.

Days 1 & 2 of the course will cover the following:

  • The theory, development and science of the GPTP (pre-course work)
  • Type and the Golden model • Exploration of the Global and Facet scales
  • Development and features of the GPTP
  • Ethical use of using GPTP
  • Giving feedback (theory and practice)
  • Interpreting the behavioural sub-facets
  • Uses and practical applications of GPTP in coaching, individual and team development
  • Practical group working on exercises to help highlight the differences in preferences.
  • Observed (assessed) administration and feedback with a candidate
  • Application, feedback and report writing for GPTP ( post-course)

Post-course work:

Delegates are expected to administer the GPTP, provide feedback on and submit two written reports.

 

About the trainer

Angus
McDonald

Angus is a Chartered Psychologist with over 20 years experience of working with psychometric and other forms of assessment in organisational, educational and research contexts, and is the author of numerous published tests and questionnaires.  

He is committed to promoting excellence and best practice in the use of psychometric assessments, formerly being Chair of the British Psychological Society’s (BPS) Committee on Test Standards and remains the Senior Verifier for the Society’s Occupational Testing qualifications.  An experienced project manager, consultant and trainer, Angus believes passionately in the ethical use of assessment to enhance individual and organisational effectiveness.
